I will say, she did make quite an impression us as well, but not in good way and it wasn't just her performance - it was her behavior. I want to first make it clear that I was NOT a contestant, I was there to watch everyone and support the contest/karaoke show because I am a very close friend of the couple that run the regular karaoke show there. That being said, here is what I, and many others witnessed: She got up on stage and, of course, sounded great BUT she basically just stared at the prompter screen through the ENTIRE song which was really sad considering that she has performed that song MANY times before. All the other finalists performing that night came well prepared and did excellent jobs. I'm sure that some of you may think I am being harsh, but I am just speaking the truth. It's sad because she actually has an enormous amount of vocal talent, which has been proven many times on AI. The impression she gave to many people was that she believed she was above it all and just didn't care anymore and didn't have to even try to perform. The fact of the matter is, however, that she technically did not even make it through the semi-finals the week before. Somehow, though, she was able to continue to the finals. I do not know the details of how, why or what was said, nor did I really care to ask. What I do know is that it is a true and verifiable fact. Okay, so let's get back to the finals: She had her Talent Agent/Manager there, but I don't know why considering she was NOT making some guest appearance, she was simply just another contestant in the show. Now, here is where it gets BAD: The winners are announced and she was not one of them. She runs over to her Mgr and begins talking loudly and angrily. We were not close enough to hear ever single word, but let's just say it was clear that she expected to win and was furious. She then proceeded to corner each judge and openly/loudly went off on them yelling and gesturing, all the while standing up right in front of people. The mask had come off and she didn't even care. It was such a sad and pathetic scene and that is the impression she made on us. I truly hope that, for her own sake, she gets some help.... Thanks for letting me share.
